What is Soft Tissue Therapy?

 

Muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia are all Soft Tissue.

Soft Tissue Therapy is the treatment of these tissues.

​

Everyone is subject to stress in their lives, this can be in the form of physical stress put on the body through exercise or bad posture or even emotional stress.

​

All of these factors have an effect on soft tissue and imbalances can occur through overly tight  muscles and their opposing, long, weak muscles.

​

The aim of soft tissue therapy is to restore balance to the body by releasing the tight muscles and encouraging strengthening of the long, weak muscles.

 

This can be achieved using a wide range of soft tissue techniques.

As well as restoring balance, soft tissue therapy increases blood circulation, aids in removing waste products from muscles and promotes a general feeling of wellbeing.
